For the first day of the Easter Bank Holiday, we decided to go to Ronnie Scott’s and stay in London overnight, at The Dean Street Townhouse in Soho, hotel booked thru Mr & Mrs Smith, we had a “Tiny” room, but they offered to upgrade us for a small fee as the “Bigger” room in the house was still free. Lovely. On the plus side, they also have a line of spa products (Cowshed) available to try at will in the room!

Great place to relax in as always, try and request a room in the main house, so you do not have to cross the courtyard to get to the restaurant. Great food, great service [website].

We were in desperate need of some lounging by a pool, and our self-catering flat not having a terrace, I booked us into the Grand Hotel Central, who supposedly has one of the best roof terrace in the city… and an infinity pool! Sunny & warm day at its best. We booked using the great Mr & Mrs Smith and one of the advantages was that we were able to check out as late as 3pm the next day and enjoy the pool a lot more.

Located at c/Comerç 36, the light attraction can easily be missed during the day, it’s the work of artist James Turrell. Inspiring.

For the second day in Barcelona, we decided to stay at a much nicer hotel, namely ME Barcelona on the Diagonal avenue, another hotel booked thru Mr & Mrs Smith, which saw us being upgraded from a Supreme Room City View (between the 7th and 20th floors), to a Level Room City View (floors 20-28) and get a room on the 27th floor.

And if you’ve ever wondered what may be the view from the 27th floor, here is an inkling…

Having booked two nights in Square, Brighton over New Year thru Mr & Mrs Smith, I had the great surprise to be upgraded from a double King room, to the exclusive reverse penthouse suite. A lovely end of the year 2009, and beginning of the year 2010… Thanks again guys!
