Just purchased this beauty of a lens, and cannot wait till next weekend when I will properly test it. Now I am eyeing the 14-24mm, but I am also considering selling my D2x and associated lenses, and getting a D700.

At last, I am now the happy owner of a Nikon D3! My trusted D2x now becomes my backup camera. I am looking forward to test three major improved areas from the previous model:
- Nikon’s original FX-format CMOS (full frame) image sensor with 36.0 (H) x 23.9 (V) mm image size; 12.1 effective megapixels
- Sensitivity range ISO 200 to 6400 at normal setting for exceptionally high-quality images; can be set to ISO-equivalent 25,600
- CF card double slot accepts two CF cards
