For our last night on that side of the island, we opted for an early evening cycle back to the hotel, via the lighthouse (Phare des baleines) on a dusky and cloudy end of day…

Following a rainy day we decided to try and cycle through the marshes between St Clément des baleines and Les Portes-en-Ré, again… the wildlife was amazing!

Cycling back from La Couarde-en-Ré to Ars-en-ré amongst the salty marshes and its wildlife was a fantastic experience. The fields of samphire (salicorne) were turning red making the landscape very flamboyant!

Sunday away to Cley windmill, in this glorious weather, and a walk to Cley beach, one mile away… and back. We stayed in the Miller room.

After a long drive to the Champagne region, to collect the champagne for our wedding, we stopped by in Noyelles/mer on the way back to Calais, to stay the night at the lovely Chateau de Noyelles. Great place, and great reception. We recommend you stay there for dinner, but confirm before 3pm (via @Hipstamatic).
