Naples, Day 2. Armando, Salvatore, Alex & I visiting the city, and the breathtaking views (and yes, the graffitis were there already!).

Good friend Armando made an invitation we could not really refuse: Come to is home city of Naples and visit the surrounding areas, Capri being one of them. An excellent long weekend with friends.

Or how many times do you need to shoot a particular spot to be satisfied with your photos. Everytime I had been to shoot those cypresses in the past week, the sky was blue and cloudless. And I also knew the best spot to shoot them was much lower according to a French guy we met while on location.
So when the first clouds appeared for the first time in a week, and the time for shooting got right, I got there (to THE spot), and captured great cliches, from white fluffy clouds to the full on thunderstorm. Fab !

Same location… two different times of the day. After 7PM and before 7AM. Look at how the pine trees stand out in the evening light… and the poppies were more obvious in the morning light.

And then I tried my hand at macro photography, also using a tripod…

Another early start today, leaving the villa at 5.15am, then driving thru Montalcino and back to the villa via Castiglione d’Orcia…

On the way, aroun 6.20am, I met an 82 year old Italian, who had been cycling most of his life, he was smiling all the time. Great character.

On Sunday, we went to visit a few vineyards in Montalcino: Fanti & Poggio Antico, and we found a nice driver, Alessandro to drive us (6 people) around for the whole day while wine tasting. He also owns a wine shop in Montalcino. Contact him here.
Had to cycle at least 15 kilometers on a gravel path in full sun to reach that location, great ride, but my body still aches…

5am start today to try and capture the landscape before sunrise (5.34am), despite being told otherwise, the mist was also there to greet us.
