As a Cambridge wedding photographer, I’m no stranger to the delightful and gorgeous Hotel Felix – thank you to Sarah & Jake for letting me help you preserve the memories and joy of your very special day!
In our initial discussions, Sarah & Jake revealed they chose me after I told them, “I love to capture people having a good time!” It’s not hard to find those smiling faces on a wedding day and in a location as inviting as the Hotel Felix, so it’s my job to be active but unobtrusive, to best capture those candid moments of love, friendship and celebration. It’s thrilling to watch a family and their closest friends come together on such an occasion and their joy was contagious.
The wedding day featured incredible light with a changing mood. The morning was a bit overcast and the light was silvery and a little flat, lending an air of elegance and sophistication to the photos. This matched the early mood of the event, a little quiet and anticipatory, as groups gathered to chat and renew acquaintances.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, an intimate one on the Hotel Felix lawn, with a striking backdrop of lush trees and greenery. Among my favourite photos are those that capture the emotions of Sarah & Jake as they read to each other their vows. And of course, the kiss to seal the deal!
There’s the sun! An overcast morning transformed into sunny skies later, perfect timing for a reception that included lawn games, quoits and a massive Jenga tower, framed by a lavish spread of drinks and food. The weather and light were perfect for an outdoor gathering and I took the opportunity to gather the guests for a few posed photos, so everyone could say, “I was there!” The golden sunlight added an air of romance that Hotel Felix wedding photography is rightfully famous for.
I’ve been a Cambridge wedding photographer for 19+ years now and it never gets old! Thank you again, Sarah & Jake, for letting me be a part of your wedding day and capture some more Hotel Felix wedding photography. Your love and happiness are inspiring, it was a privilege getting to know you and your lovely family and friends.
I just wanted to thank you for the photos! We absolutely love them. I am so pleased that you managed to get so many photos of us and our family and friends looking happy and enjoying ourselves. I’m going to get them printed and put them in an album with little notes to remind us of the day. Sarah (bride)
