Yasmin and Richard booked me to be their Longstowe Hall wedding photographer for their big day on 19 May 2018. Longstowe Hall is a spectacular wedding venue just outside Cambridge, with an Elizabethan ballroom and long lawns sweeping down to the lake. Any couple would be delighted to be married there and for me, being a Longstowe Hall wedding photographer is always a pleasure, too.
The day began with hair styling and make-up for Yasmin and her bridesmaids. I love capturing the emotions as the bride and bridesmaids prepare for the day. I also caught my first glimpse of her dress and bouquet – the guests would have to wait until later to see them, of course.
The weather could not have been more perfect, the sky was clear blue and there was not a cloud in the sky. The lake at Longstowe Hall has an island with a pavilion and a wrought iron bridge. It was a charming feature for the happy couple and one that made this photographer happy, too!
Yasmin walked with her father down the lawn in glorious sunshine, a bouquet of red and white roses in her hand and wore an elegant gown with delicate lace across the shoulders, the maid of honour wore crimson and the little bridesmaids were in white with a matching crimson sash. The couple were all smiles as they met at the bridge then walked across, hand in hand.
In contrast to the hot sunny day, the wedding cake was decorated with ‘his and hers’ penguins. This is just one of the little personal touches Yasmin and Richard chose for their wedding, I especially liked the little hand-written name tags on the chairs.
As evening came the guests stayed outdoors, with live music followed by a disco. The perfect setting to end a beautiful day. Wishing you many happy years together, Yasmin and Richard! If you were thinking of getting married at Longstowe Hall, I would love to be a Longstowe Hall wedding photographer again.
