Holly and Mat chose to book our wedding photographers Cambridgeshire service to capture their wedding day at the Sheene Mill in Melbourn. Wedding photography in that particular venue on the outskirts of the county is always very relaxed. The little pond at the back of the building is always a great prop to use either for reflections or to add to the bucolic nature of the whole place. The wedding had a small number of guests and it made for a nice and relaxed sunny day in the Cambridge countryside.
Holly got ready in a room above the dining hall. While Mat welcomed the guests downstairs and made sure all the little things were going to plan.
Holly and Mat opted for an outdoor ceremony, with the guests seated on chairs on the pond’s bank, while the civil ceremony was taking place in the gazebo overlooking the water. We had a lot of fun capturing the marriage as every single angle gave us a great view of the proceedings, furthermore, the view from the other side of the pond added to the greatness of the whole picture.
After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a great drink reception on the lawn nearby. The flowers and gardens of the wedding venue’s grounds are a fabulous backdrop that made our job as wedding photographers Cambridgeshire so much easier. The guests played a variety of games while enjoying their champagne reception: croquet and boules being firm favourites.
Following the drink reception, dinner was served in the dining hall, where a few speeches were made throughout the meal. Mat’s humour shone and was the source of great amusement for their wedding guests. Those very guests made us feel very welcome that day and we felt like we were part of the family somehow.
Later on, an amazing first dance and a stunning rendition of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by the wedding band made the wedding couple and the guests go crazy and bounce all over the dance floor. Congratulations to Holly and Mat on your union. I hope you and your guests will enjoy looking at my wedding photographs and remember the day as much as I do: A lovely and relaxed wedding, in a stunning countryside venue in Cambridgeshire.
Here is what the couple thought about my work overall:
Jean-Luc Benazet was so easy to deal with and we couldn’t be happier with the photos he took. Before the wedding he was easy to contact and communicate with, on the day he arrived in good time and was seemingly everywhere while at the same time never in the way. He provided digital copies of the photos very quickly after the wedding, just a few days later no less! The photo coverage and style was perfect with a mix of formal and informal photos spread across the day with every guest captured at some point. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more.
