Privacy policy
How I collect, use and protect your personal data. Plain English, in line with UK GDPR.
Last updated: 1 June 2026.
Who I am
This site is run by Jean-Luc Benazet ("I", "me", "my"), a branding photographer and AI visibility consultant based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. I am the data controller for any personal data you share through this site. You can reach me at hello@jeanlucbenazet.com.
What I collect
I only collect what you choose to give me. When you use the enquiry form or email me, that's typically your name, email address, the service you're interested in, and whatever you write in your message. I do not ask for sensitive personal data, and please don't send any.
If a project goes ahead, I'll also hold the practical details needed to deliver it — for example a billing address, and for photography work the images we agree to create.
How I use it
To reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal, deliver the work you've booked, send invoices, and keep the records UK law requires me to keep. I use your information only for these purposes. I will never sell it.
The legal basis
For responding to enquiries, the basis is your consent and my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me. For delivering a booked project, it is the performance of our contract. For tax and accounting records, it is my legal obligation.
Who sees it
The enquiry form is handled by Web3Forms, which passes your message to my inbox. My email and files sit with standard, reputable providers. I use a small number of trusted services to run the business (for example email and accounting software), and they only process your data on my instructions. I don't share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into work are deleted within a reasonable period. Records tied to a paid project are kept for as long as the law requires (generally six years for financial records), then deleted.
Cookies and analytics
This is a deliberately lightweight static site. It sets no marketing or tracking cookies. If I add privacy-friendly analytics in future, I'll update this policy and tell you what it does.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how I use it. Email hello@jeanlucbenazet.com and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with an updated date.
This policy is a practical starting point, not legal advice. Have a solicitor check it against your final business arrangements before you rely on it.
