Terms & conditions
The basis on which I provide photography and consulting work. The one-page brief or proposal for your specific project always takes precedence over anything here.

About these terms
These terms govern your use of this website and the services I provide as Jean-Luc Benazet ("I", "me", "my"), based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. By enquiring or booking, you agree to them. Every project is also confirmed in a written proposal or one-page brief; where that document and these terms differ, the project document wins.
Using this website
The content here — copy, images, design and code — is mine unless stated otherwise, and is provided for information. You're welcome to read and share links to it. Please don't copy, reproduce or reuse the photography or written content without permission. The site is offered as-is; I keep it accurate but can't guarantee it is always complete or error-free.
Bookings and quotes
An enquiry isn't a contract. We have an agreement once I've sent a written proposal or brief and you've confirmed it. Prices shown on the site are positioning guides; your actual fee is the one in your proposal. Prices exclude VAT unless stated.
Payment
Unless your proposal says otherwise, photography bookings are secured with a deposit, with the balance due on or before delivery. Consulting work is invoiced as set out in the proposal — typically a deposit to begin, the balance on completion, or monthly for ongoing work. Invoices are payable within the terms stated on them.
Photography: rights and delivery
I deliver edited images within the timescale agreed in your brief (typically ten working days). You receive full personal and business usage rights in perpetuity, as described on the photography page, with no per-channel fees. I retain copyright and the right to show selected work in my portfolio and marketing unless we agree otherwise in writing in advance. Editorial and broadcast licensing is by separate arrangement.
Consulting: what I can and can't promise
AI visibility and SEO depend on third-party systems — search engines and AI assistants — that I do not control and that change without notice. I apply current best practice and measure results honestly, and most clients see meaningful improvement within the programme. I cannot, however, guarantee specific rankings, citations or positions in any AI tool, and no such guarantee should be inferred. You're responsible for the accuracy of any business information you ask me to publish.
Cancellation and changes
If you need to cancel or move a shoot or project, tell me as early as you can; the notice terms and any deposit treatment are set out in your proposal. If I ever have to cancel, I'll offer a reschedule or a refund of anything paid for work not delivered.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it (for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, my total liability for any project is limited to the fees you paid for that project. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or business.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
